With respect, is investing the time and effort into producing these really going to be cost effective and highly used?

I think with examining this idea, clearly the biggest business risk here is your end users not using the application.

If you have made the decision to get rid of wallet cards, thats cool, but get rid of them. If i have to provide someone some verification of my identity, ill send them digital transcripts, before I will send them a digital wallet card, particularly if it looks gimmicky in any way, shape, or form.

I think dumping the wallet card altogether might be a better option for MSL in the long run than to introduce a digital platform that, much like George's profile attempts, doesnt see much marketing or adoption and ends up quietly removed after a year or so.

I still hope MS won`t do that. It is another action from MS that makes MS certs less valuable.

Market needs MCSA/MCSE people, never seen single MCITP certified job offer, not to mention that MCITP was initially designed as a three years cert only:)

Please learn from Vista fail and do not ruin MCP, do not follow current way.

@me - I don't think that Go Green will reduce number of people doing the certs, MCP gets bunch of other benefits and cert is just one part of it. Also I think that digital wallet card is better idea of the card in your wallet. Simply it is more convinient. Of course there is an economy background as well (nowdays is nothing unusual)however I'd rather want MS to focus and spend more money on software development than wallet card/cert production :)Last one thing: with digital you get everything way faster :) As for the avatar: will it be "legal" to put e.g. MCP logo created n Logo Library on that wallet card instead of pics? :)

It is not benefit. It is ripoff. The real reason for discontinuing wallet cards is economy not ecology. If ecology is MS concern why don't you stop selling printed books and BOXed software first? Is there any prove that those Virtual Business Cards and pdf Certs are more green than paper ones?

I've though you got your lesson with Vista, looks I was wrong.

The funny thing might be that costs cutting might end with less income from less people making certs.

Getting more likable , but i , personally would like to see something more "official" more MCP-like , perhaps integrating the products logoes ?
I have a lot of Certifications and would like to see an image that reflected that .Looking forward to it !
